Surfriding Wave Riding Video

I used to do br's when I first started riding. Broke my hood, intake manifold and cracked my ski and kind of was over them after awhile. Doing it back into the wave is a whole nother ballgame. Its hard enough to do a regular reentry and land back into the whitewater or even harder to land back into the open face. With a br reentry u will really have to be far of in front of the wave/whitewater to pull it. Last time I did a regular br was in my heat at surfslam 3 or 4 years ago and I bailed and my hood came off and I sank haha. I'll do some next time I ride. I did a cOuple 180s the other day that kinda turned into 360s/ inverted 180s. I didn't have my helmet on though so I quit while I was ahead

I have not tried the br reentry myself, but sunday morning at pismo I did bust one out again on about a 4 footer in the backset plate to plate. The roll itself is fairly easy once you get the hang of it, but I will admit launching sideways off the wave will add a bit of uncertainty for sure. I have not ruled out trying one at some point, but the planets will most likely be in the 1000 year alignment when and if I do...oh yea, straps are the shizznit!

Awsome. Any vid of it anywhere? I remember watching him ride when I went to daytona and he was ripping. Really aggressive. The difference is that he can probably do them on flatwater in his sleep. Plus u arnt gonna rotate nearly as fast With one foot forward. Plus if u don't stick the rotation u are probably gonna sink so i guess it would be better to try at the end ofthe session. For me I need a really hollow wave to do one with any height. Taylor on the other hand can go huge off little dribblers. He is the master at reentries. This guy Luke that dosnt ride anymore tried one once at pismo on a good head high day in surfstance. He got all the way around but came unglued in the whitewater It looked pretty damn cool
Erok was nailin' them in Daytona last year on 3' faces. Nice tight rotation, right down the line.

One of my goals some day....but no straps or holds......

right on..u will get it dialed...just remember when u are doing turns on the wave or hitting the breaking part of the wave u have to be 100% comitted...everything is happening so fast that any hesitation and your gonna blow it...u need to have what u are going to do planned out before u even get to the wave...the bottom of your ski needs to be at the same angle as the wave even if it is just for a split second while u are hitting the lip.. as far as reentries go...if u want to boost a big one look for the scariest most over vertical section u can and aim for that....watch allot of surf videos...basically u can turn your ski in all the same places u can with a surfboard...it will give u ideas other than the same "slash" that everybody does..yea ride with the jersey guys...they know whats up! really helps to watch other people in person...
