Blaster WaveBlaster Question

Back when my dad had a Wave Raider I saw the Waveblaster and thought is was wicked. I'm considering buying a waveblaster but they're pretty old. Is there a newer version? Everyone here looks like they know their stuff. Those of you who have waveblasters...What would you recommend to make the best out of a waveblaster? Pros Cons?

Would you recommend another ski besides the blaster that gives a comparable ride?

Newest model year for this country was 1996. Really not a lot has changed since then with oem 2 stroke skis. For example the brand new 2010 superjet still has the exact same engine as the 96 blaster and the entire driveline is very similar. If they did still make the blaster I wouldn't expect it to be updated much if at all aside from graphics.

It really comes down to how much you have/want to spend and what type of riding you want to do.

I guess I'm worried about the engine. I read somewhere that the sharp turning puts more strain on the motor. I guess that's what worries me. I would probably paint it too. It looks like I would probably go with a blaster 2 because the seem to be a little quicker and more stable???

My blaster has a 93 engine in it, still runs strong. I really can't think of any modern ski that would have a similar ride. I think a big part of that is that they are alot lighter and shorter than the modern skis and narrower too.

The blaster 2 has nothing in common with the blaster 1 other than the name. If you want a ski the size of a blaster 2 there are a lot of better options out there (IMO).

BTW, the engine that comes in the B1 is prob with most reliable 2 stroke you can get in a ski. Also has the largest aftermarket parts offering. It is pretty easy to judge an engines condition and worst case scenario they are (relatively) cheap to rebuild.

I kind of like the fact that you can do tricks. If I could get my daily dose of adrenaline by needle I probably would. You wouldn't think the blaster2 would do tricks? What else is out there comparable to the blaster2?

I would buy a superjet, waveblaster 1 or Kawi x-2(with mods) if your looking for adrenaline! If you really want a fun couch, any powerful older two seater is your best bet, like a waveblaster 2, gp1200, gp1300r, kawi 1100 or a hate to say it but a 96 seapoo xp or 97-99 seapoo spx.
