my four inch rubber hose that connects the exhaust keeps coming off in rough water, seems like pipe doesnt go on far enough. is thois a known problem with the waveblasters
i asked for help and my questions dissapeared. im a newbie here maybe i did it. anyways. one of my waveblasters is giving me a continual problem. the four inch rubber hose connector to the exhaust keeps coming off in rough waters. it seems like it the muffler doesnt go in far enough. I pushed and pushed but it seems like no better result. Any ideas is this a known problem. should i post pictures.
what kind of pipe? are you putting anything on it before you install the hose? ie, silicone spray, wd-40? try cleaning the surfaces of the hose that contacts the pipe with carb cleaner or brake cleaner, then wipe the inside surface really well. you can also use a little sandpaper to roughen up the surface a little bit, it helps make it bite onto the metal a little better.
Good info above ^ .. FYI , mine popped off 4 times in one day before I secured it ,and the thing for me was that you need to have the clamps at least 3/16 away from the edge of the hose . I was putting it even with the edge and it popped every time ..... now its still on my b-pipe since the Daytona Freeride . not saying its the answer but it worked for me
sorry for the images. it seems like the bracket runs out of room to allow the muffler to go on to the rubber hose. right before the hose clamp there is a lip on the muffler. that flange isnt going into the rubber hose far enough. so i usually clamp on the edge. if i clamp away from the edge the hose will squeeze off. i bought the hose from factory pipe it seems like it is to sghort by a quarter inch or so. would everyone agree? thanks you guys rock.
So are you sating the lord mount is not allowing the pipe to go far enough into the coupling? I would pull the hose off, clean it, clean both mounting surfaces and make sure you get a good connection down there before you try hooking up the lord mount. You may have to twist the pipe once its in the coupler to get the best fit, then clamp it down. If you get a good clamp on it and its nice and tight, it shouldn't come loose in theory...
I have the same pipe (FPP Limited).....like Zimmy says above, make sure you get it clocked into the best position before you clamp it down. I have the same coupler and have had no problems with it after figuring out the best position for the chamber to be in. I had to push it back from the stinger side while tightening down the clamp. it's rock solid now. good luck.
