Wavejunkies steppin it up to the pontoon

The extreme surf pontoon was pulling double duty as a SAR (Search and Rescue) toon. I'm glad that all worked out and no one drowned, but it sure killed my vibe I had going for that session.

Nick is not exaggerating about the load we had. And they were drunk women, so they weren't staying in one place. I may have to put some rails up front or maybe a pole is more appropriate. That prop was the ticket. It put me in the poor house, but it made that thing rip. I bet I could ski behind it now. Probably with all the people and skis loaded on. It is a Solas 12.25 by 9 pitch thrust prop. It's all done except for tidying up some wires.
We'll have to try it in the surf. The pontoons have some girth and the stringers are doubled in some areas, but from what you guys are talking about sounds like shore break. Props plus shore break = major problems. I love when waves come crashing across your deck and the prop is in the sand so you can't go anywhere.

it was the sand bar:bigeyes:your boat would have had no problem.it was scary as hell with chucks.it was just powerfull enough to keep it pointed into the breakers.24ft+50hp merc:scared:every time i would crest a big one the the prop would come out of the water and the wave would cary me backwards a few feet.i would do it again in a heartbeat!

Robert, sounds like that prop really made a big difference,Im surprised its got that much power for the hp that it is.what is your loaded cruising speed now?

Were looking to put a 85 to a 150 on our boat, but it is much more heavy im sure

Butti, sounds like you guys got out in some crazy stuff with the toon, how big was the surf?
