can i piggy back on to your thread with a similar question. i have a ski with a damaged overheat sensor wire. can i just cut that off. dont want to thake the time to disassemble the e-box and un plug. i assume it wouldnt affect anything except i wont know if i am overheating.

yes and yes.

I would cut the wires outisde the box so the cut wires still run through the grommet.

If you cut them from the inside of the box, you have to silicone the empty holes where the wires were.

With the overheat sensors, just make sure the two wires don't make contact. They will jump out and put it in limp mode if they touch.

Mine are just floating around my ebox on all my skis.

the temp sensor if i hook up a bilge to those wires wen would it turn on or would it be on as soon as i turn ski on

Most switches only pass a small current...not sure how those switches are..normally open or normally closed..but even if it is a normally closed circuit(meaning it passes a current all the time, and would cause ski to go in limp mode when switch is opened from excessive heat) I highly doubt it would be anywhere near enough and you could risk damage to your CDI.

Run your bilge power wire though the old overheat sensor (pink wire) to the hot side of the Relay. You still need the on/off switch, but you don't ahve the bilge pump wires running up to the battery this way. Looks cleaner....

You can leave the pink wire hanging in the box, but I like to cap it so it does not ground to anything.
