Blaster WB1 - removing oxidation on purple paint

Location
Michigan
Just purchased a '94 WB1 in great condition with very low hours.

The only issue is the purple has sun faded over the years.

Any suggestions / specific products to try to remove the oxidation and bring the color back?

Is the purple color gel coat or paint?

Thanks!

i use a light rubbing compound then Garys cleaner wax and brings skis back like new most of the time. you will prob have to do it 1 or 2 times a season to keep is shinning if its out in the sun all the time. ive been doing this on tons of skis and boats for over 10 years and id say 90% come right back to life and trust me some were in really bad shape

My 96 was this way when I bought it. I used the blue bottle McGuires 3 step wax on a high speed buffer. I spent like 8 hours on it but it was well worth it. I did 3 coats of all 3 types of wax. First wax removes oxidation, second one polishes and last one protects. A lot of people thought I had fresh paint with metalic flake because what was let of the oxidation gave it that look. It unbelievable how good it came out.

The color is in the gel coat which is why it fades so bad.
