WBI waterbox explosion

Ok so I bought a waveblaster this weekend and decided to take it out before it got to cold. I start it on the trailer for a few seconds before I put it in the water just like I do my superjet, starts up just fine. Get it into the water and go to start it and BOOOOM, the waterbox explodes.

After the ringing in my ears subsided I used a ratchet strap to kinda close the waterbox back up and duct tape the crap out of it so I can at least ride for an hour or so on my new to me ski.

Ok two questions:

1. Is this something that is common with blaster I's?

2. Does anyone have a aftermarket waterbox for sale?

Actually my daughter thinks it's hillarious to spray me in the face with the air hose.

Yeah I had one blow on me,with the hood up & I was reaching over the box to grab the throttle on the carb while standing on the left side of the ski......BOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM

Lucky the strap was on I literally saw the top come completely off lifting the strap about 10 inches. Kinna hard of hearing since then.

Had a GP1200R blow the plastic resonator into a million small pieces & wrenchs & a rachet blew straight up in the air & hit me in the head...OUCH

I HATE BACKFIRES.

I bought a Riva box,it costs a little more than most but def was strong,I think FPP still makes one also.:wink:

I have heard of this being pretty common on blasters for some reason. it happened to me when i started my buddies blaster I

fitted a factory pipe box was cheap and well made.
