Wdk questions

I've been out of skis for a couple years due to buying a house and drag racing, finally looking to get another ski. I came off a heavily modded x2 but def. Dont want to get back into the now highly over priced kawi market and pay 2k for a water logged x2 lol.

I found a wdk rok semi local to me, 701 b-pipe single 46, basic clean ski. Its priced right were i want to be cash wise but i know nothing about their hulls. I know the rok is bigger than the rokr which is good as im a big guy. Other than that i know nothing about them.

Im a boat chaser/lake rider with the occasional trip to the surf.

How do these hulls ride and handle? Howd build quality? I dont expect a rickter but i dont want it to break on half on me lol

Thanks

A buddy of mine has a Rok that I get to see twice a year. I've been on the ski afew times with a similar setup. It's a fun hull, and possibly flipable in surf. My first question is does it have a splash guard? Like other skis without a front bond rail without the splash guard you really do have a hard time enjoying getting splashed constantly.

Can't comment on quality but hope it works out for you.

I do not believe it does. I have never been on a ski with out a bond rail, some people say you dont notice, some say its horrible.

There is some vids of people flipping them off their own wakes with big power. I will honestly prob never flip, i use to try all the time on my x2 off v wakes and slides but never got the balls in the surf and got sick of crashing in the lake. Im sure ill do the same again, try it a bunch never land and the appeal will wear off lol

If you can find a good hull everything I have heard or seen about wdk the quality is top notch.

He lags like crazy getting products from him, but his quality is unmatched.

I ended up buying the ski. For what i think was a good deal (4500) and hurt me knee the day i got it so i cant ride it lol. But a few friends took it out and said it feels great. Im in the process of converting it to fixed steer while my knee heals up. Hope to be on the water in a week or two

Hate to be this kind of person and hijack this thread but I just bought a WDK carbon f1 pro and I too have VERY little information on this hull, if anyone's got any info that would be awesome

I think Roks are one of the more underrated hulls out there for general rec riding. For the riding you said you do I think you'll find that the Rok handles great and will be much more playful than a SJ. Every Rok hull I've seen has been built well and seemed to have great fit/finish.

What are you wanting to know about it?
I was told there are only 7 carbon ones lefts, 2 in Canada one being a fix steer and me having the other one, is this true? Are they this rare? When were the production years? And if there are any other facts or information on the f1 or my particular ski

From what i gathered, Jeff made them more as a side project. He never pushed them his focus on skis was freestyle hulls.

He made the f1 pro after loving his fx1 but it was too heavy and needed more pump.

When I bought the molds I got the original plug for the f1 as well. Very well made products, Jeff is a composite wizard.

Oh that's super cool to know!! Are you planning on making them again with fibreglass or CF?
And are you planning on making any changes to the molds?

My intention was never to make these for sale. I wanted a few skis, and a couple friends did as well. I started my build thread on my rokr and mentioned that I had the f1 pro mold.
I have received a lot of pms of people asking to get one. If there is enough of a demand then I will make some for sale.
Right now im only doing glass, being this isn't a business (yet) I'm more interested in cost savings vs weight savings.

As far as changing the mold.... don't know I haven't ridden one yet to know if it needs to be changed.
