WDK - What to do next???

Ok so 3 weeks before havasu 12 i had talked to jeff about the rokR. I was told he could have me one built within 3 weeks after the finals. I knew about all the negative bs, but i had him built me 2 sxr bottoms just before this and they were made quick and shipped quick as well. Decided to take a chance and went ahead and ordered the rokR. I was told a price which included extras and was told it would be a simple build this way. Fast forward to almost 9 months later still no hull. I had seen pics of others builds and there in the background was my hull. WTF??? Finally Jeff gave me the tracking number and said it was shipped and also the envy top deck and hood would ship 3 days later.[Yes i ordered another product from him,but this was early on] Ok so the hull arrives and i open the crate to find that all the extras were not done. Weeks go buy with no answers from jeff so i took the hull to another shop and had the turf done. Got the ski back and went ahead on the build. Yes i had the correct mid shaft but the stock sj driveshaft was exactly 2" too long. Jeff finally got ahold of me and said no way that can happen. Went on to explain how these were made and such. Finally blamed the other shop for removing the motor mounts and reglassing them in the wrong spot. OK. I had the shaft shortened and finished with the build. First ride, nothing but nose wheelie. No way to plane this thing out. Let several others ride it and the same thing. After another month or so of trying to get ahold of jeff, he finally gets back to me and we go over afew things and comes back to the same thing. Someone changed the mounts and the motor sits too far back. "Didnt leave my shop that way" Also the hull takes on water thruogh the exhaust outlet.I asked about my other hull everytime we spoke and excuse after excuse. He finally offered to send me a bottom as well for the envy since i was overcharged for the rokR. Well over a year ago and still no envy or any word from him in over 3 months.We did meet at finals this year and i gave him the respect as to not bring this up in front of all the people. We finally had a chance to talk about the hull and HE offered to build me a replacement RokR and said about 3 weeks. months later we exchange text about the colors and turf options. I agreed i wanted the same hull. Asked about the envy and again the reply was 'OH man thats like done, just have too finish the hood". So here i am almost a year and a half with no envy or my replacement RokR. No contact from him in over 3 months. i tried to keep this between he and i but now im getting alittle upset. How do some of these builders think they can take peoples hard earned money and just not give a damn? Can anyone show me an invoice from any builder or are all these deals done under the table? My patience is just about over dealing with him. I have given him plenty of time to make this right. I do have all the money order reciepts and texts from he and i. Just looking for suggestions on the next step.

How do some of these builders think they can take peoples hard earned money and just not give a damn?

Because people keep coming and give them money despite those people knowing damn well what the builder's reputation is.

Next step: Move on and stop expecting him to come through.
Based on what I've seen with him in the past, two options:
1. Quit bugging him and hope he comes through. Wouldn't be my first choice.
2. Road trip with some buddies. Do not tell him about it or the shop will be closed during that time. Seen it happen.

Sorry Senor, but you even said you knew about the BS. I really feel bad you have gotten screwed, but cannot sit here and thing "Why would someone go throught this crap knowing his history"...................
 
when you know the candy machine is broke and you aint getting that snickers bar, dont throw money at it! if its too late for that, act like you didnt know it was broke and kick and shake the $hit out of it, until you get your money back, candy falls out or you feel like you got your moneys worth by beating the crap out of it.

way more surprising than the story is that Senor has been a member since 2007 and only 54 posts WOW. Not that its a bad thing, just surprised me.
If you are state side and have enough funds invested in parts or services not received then I would book a round trip flight.
if not then move on knowing your losses. As for the wheelie machine, fix it. My buddies ROK-R is a GREAT little freestyle hull that is fun as he!! so long as your not running any speed accross the water.

I have personally ordered parts from jeff and always received them . Via payment with credit card. Also have had a few friends order hulls and received them in a reasonable time frame. Jeff is not the best with communication. But He has never not delivered. Just my experience with dealing with him.

So I know this is the least of your problems.

But did you have this other shop move the motor mounts...?

And what ride plate were you running?

And what pole length?

My rokr planes out instantly with no problem at all. Rides awesome (with the long plate) short plate is a different ball game.

Always brings me a good chuckle (almost to tears) when there is one or two bleeding hearts that tell a very nice sincere story

About 4 years ago l fell into the same small hell hole with Jeff.l got "its on the shelf,looking at it right now.All l need to due is crate it up and she's on her way to you".So l gave him my amex card and he "hooked me" up! SO after almost two weeks go by and l get a call from Jeff."Man,l don't know,your card won't go through,DO you have another card l can use!?" Gave him my visa card.Called amex and basically they told me that don't "accept" anything from WDK's.

Long story short,7 weeks go by with the emails and phone calls go by without any contact from Jeff.Last day before l had to pay cc bill and l denied the charge.

So there is another story for all you great sincere guys that like to "put your hand into the rattlers cage (thanks Buzz,for that analogy!)"

How much you need? Not really looking for someone to feel sorry for me. I purchased plenty of skiis this last year so i did manage to ride almost every weekend. Just dont really understand how someone thinks that they can treat customers this way. I have owned my own business for over 27 years and just cant imagine treating someone this way. I know,I know i drank the kool-aid and even saw the crap on the bottom of the glass.

You've asked this twice now and you've answered that question yourself. Jeff thinks he can do it because people that know better continue to pay him, letting him operate that way.
