SX/SXi/SXi Pro Weak Spark

Tried to start the pig today.. go fuel coming through.. but spark is very weak.
Changed plugs.. no diffference.. both leads same.

Anything common on these things for weak spark?
Pulled the engine and front cover off.. looks good under there visually

Hoping its something other than a buggered stator??

Any hints?

Oh... 95 SXi.. although motor is not from this ski.. waaaaay to good of condition lol

Did you pull the spark plug boot and trim the plug wires back a little?

No I havn't, however both leads exibit the same weak spark.
thinking coil or stator?

Try a new set of spark plug boots first,the stockers go bad over time and cause weak spark,I replace them with NGK boots

Happened to my 96. It was the stator.

I am so used to seeing Superjet posts that I failed to look at the section,more than likely it is the stator ,I have replaced many of them.

Check your coil. The plug wires have been know to be crushed inside the ignition box from the factory.

happened to my 96 as well. Changed the stator and it ran again but had intermittent problems. Changed the coil and boots now i have no troubles!! Knock on wood
