doin a nose stab off a boat wake while on vacation i had some issues with my footing that resulted in this:

gotta love coming out of general anesthesia


my knee is actually pointing up here, my foot is just rotated 90 degrees


and a few x-rays to show the extent of the damage






i had a rod put down my tibia while i was on vacation and now that i'm back home the local doctors want to give me a 2nd rod down my fibia, and if that doesn't work there gonna plate a screw it in place...

Looks like its time for foot holds this winter!

ieieie, I know your pain...give it some time, the tib fib break is much worse than just the fib like I had. I was riding again in 6 months, but was taking it easy somewhat for the first year. I will never have footholds again, just a front hold to get my toes under and a rear strap.

just to update this thread, i had a 2nd surgery they put 2 plates and 11 screws on my fibula.



now i have 4 more weeks of no weight bearing, then i might be able to start PT to walk again... looks like my snowboard season is shot too!

very similar injury myself two breaks to the tib 1 to the fib, compound fracture - I had the IM nail (its still in) that was two years ago - i wasnt allowed near my ski for 18(long)months - taking it majorly easy for now. The plan is for the nail to be removed after Oct 2012, It will have been in place for 3+ years then. Get well soon, best of luck Mate
