I took it out for the first time on Sunday. It still needs some tunning. My "throttle lever" (avid brake lever off bicycle) will not open the carbs all the way so i need to pick up a finger throttle and chin pad at WF then it will be complete and we can resume the tunning process.
with only half throttle the motor ripps I'm stocked!

I didnt take as many photos as i should have. I was more concerned about getting it on the water then documenting the build. Those are all the pics I have. The wet pipe is the same as the dry pipe without the outer jacket. I will post some pics when I get to havasu.

8.5L kart tank durring testing the pipe rubbed a whole in the tank. It is avoidable by heating and denting the tank. We knew it needed to be done but thought it could wait, apperantly not.

The used (ebay) tank I thought was a good deal was not. It looked good but basiscly fell apart it must have been old. When I pulled it for repair.
I noticed it was all kinds of week.
I wanted to ride so jamd up to portland to get a tank from Mike @ Shark shifter. which has a nice selection of tanks & parts for a good price.

I put a 550 tank in mine pretty easily, holds a bit more than the largest kart tank. Also, powerbomb 48s worked amazing on a stock 800, should work good on your setup as well and much cheaper than FullSpecs.

the price differace between the powerbombs and full specs is what aprox $400?
If I have to buy bigger carbs then I would prefer to get the best and not look back. I know the 49 avlr will be the best setup.
I don't want to "step over a dollar to save a quarter"
I'm pretty sure the 44's will be just fine the ski ripps as it is with only half throttle and a quick tune. ounce tuned in correctly and a new throttle lever is installed it should be a rocket.

Put a pic up of your 550 tank set up.

If you look close you can see how I used the stock siphon to evacuate water out of the tray area. I did not foam the tray area and used a check valve in line to prevent back flow.
I'm not sure if it even needs it.
the tubes and valve didn't ad much weight and its there if it needs to be. seemed like an idea.

more pics

don't ever buy a used kart tank

I INSTALLED A THREADED FITTING AT THE END OF THE "ONE WAY" VALVE TO PREVENT BACK FLOW WHEN REC RIDING

the lanyard is off a skidoo snowmobile allowing the lanyard to be pulled off at Any direction mounted it under the pole for a sleek hide a key effect

Love the threaded fitting on the one way.

l finally did find my leaks in the hull.Air coming out the 2 front scoop grate inserts.Other than cutting the tray and going inside the hull Weston, you got any good ideas on sealing them up from the outside? Got some ideas, like siliconeing the screws and then maybe putting some silicone on the pad where the screws bolt in.Other than that,IDK.
