SXR Wet Pipe Blown Coupler Question

Location
Idaho
Just overheated my pipe and coupler last weekend. Also melted the gas tank a little. Got to the back of the lake and opened up the hood to find my pipe was super hot. Found that some sand clogged the top water screw port. I was running top 1/2, middle closed, and bottom 1/8. The 1/8 was not enough to keep things cool. Got it unclogged and tightened the coupler back down since it got a little melted. It is not a bad idea to run filters on the incoming lines.

Yeah I didnt end up running the filters when it got fixed but I have 2 lines coming in now... I am also running the pipe much cooler now

I leanred that the silicon couplers should be able to withstand heat up to around 500d and when I was tuning it I ran it wide open for about 25 seconds and splashed water on the pipe and it didnt even sizzle so I should be well under the 212d mark. Hopefully this never happens again.

I dont think one of my water lines was clogged, I had the pipe running much hotter before and I think the 2 mile stretch of WOT caused it to blow
