I have my sxr driveline in an eme q8. My ski is running well, but I think there is room for improvement.

Right now I have my ski set up like this:

Highs: 152.5 @ 1/2 turn out

Lows: 80 @ 1 turn out

2.0 Needle and seat with stock spring

Headpipe settings found best to be at: bottom 1/8 turn for coupler safety, middle closed, top @ 1 to 1-1/2 turn. Jet works flow valve to the stinger.

I have considered jetting down on the lows and highs but havent tried yet.

Just wondering if anyone else has experimented with different jet sizes? My main focus is to squeeze all the low end out of my setup as I can, I have no interest in top end speed.

Thanks in advance

Those numbers sound about right. Are they stock carbs? I think mine were the same except I ran a lower popoff. I ran the black spring. Best thing to do is to put a tack on the motor and tune it for peak RPM. That is when you will know when the carbs are set right.

clouse, your numbers seem spot on to my set up that i think works really well .i actually found your recommendation for using the 2.0 needle and seat works great for freestyle, but i had to change out my springs to 115 g to make it work correctly. i am running a considerable amount of initial ignition timing( two strokes love this) and i don't know how much it changes the jetting recipe? also as you mentioned, i am running my top headpipe screws out like 1 1/2-2 turns out and it likes it,i tried this same screw adjustment combo on my superjet 800 and it didn't work so good ,i found it made better power if i ran less water, with the screws being out like 5/8 of a turn.i don't remember where my carb screws are set but the sxr stock carbs stay tuned pretty easily, not too finicky.also i think my jetting is the jetting that fp recommend for the wet pipe set up and cant remember off hand exactly, but from their site it says 80 pilot &152.5 main ,but honestly i cant remember its been a while since i checked since this has always worked trouble free for me...

I just installed a wet pipe on my SX-R according to their instructions below and it seems to be running fine except for a loss of power when doing a tailspin. I was told I should try a 2.0 needle like you stated. I'm curious, how did you run your plumbing? What are your screw settings on your pipe set to?

Factory Pipe:
Main jet: 152.5 front, 152.5 rear
Pilot Jet: 80
High-speed screw: 1/2 turn out from closed
Low speeds screw: 1.0 turn out from closed
Needle: Stock
Spring: Stock
