Other Wetbike

Anyone ever ride a Wetbike? What did you think of it. I don't know why but I want to ride one and I see what they were like. I've been on a bunch of standups and couches and wanna try a Wetbike out.

They are tough! I have put a couple hours on one and is unlike anything else on the water. That video makes it look a bit tougher than it is.....is that SFL?

Its much like riding a motorcycle, and most people who get around on two wheels have a easier time of it. You must lean to steer. The steering pushes back against the way you want to turn, If you can't hold it, it whips the other direction and it bucks you off. I had a minor concussion from that exact situation and i refuse to ride one again. That being said, they're much like standups, challenging and rewarding when you get it right.

Go over to pwctday and pm Tori, he has a bunch of them including a rare prototype "Jetbike" that was developed after the original design but slightly different. and one made entirely from aluminum.

Riding wetbikes is a blast but you have to get used to them. If you fight them - you'll lose.

Most of the time, the bucking and bronking happens because the rider is sitting too far back. This lightens the front end and leads to instability - classic double tank-slapper with full face-plant. If you slide forward far enough to put your balls on the gas cap, things settle down quickly. On the bikes with the longer front ski (60hp bikes), the bucking is reduced dramatically.

If anyone needs any info or help . . . swing by my new site - http://www.wetbike.me

If u ride one lean forward when u take off ..people will not tell u to cuz they want u to crash the first time u ride one ..but they r a diff ski thats for sure ..if u just sit on mine and give it full throttle it will flip u backwards with no prob..like I said lean forward and take wide truns at first

Be sure to take a passenger along for a ride. You won't be able to turn at full speed (at all) but you'll set a wheelie record on your lake.

Yes, they are powered by Suziki outboard powerheads. Early models were 723cc, later models grew to about 800cc. Watercross of Texas sold a 3 cylinder conversion.
