Wetsuit pushing on neck

I bought a wetsuit and it fits well the only thing is, I feel like the suit pushes on my throat, like directly on my Adam’s apple.

Is this the norm with wetsuits? This is my first suit so I don’t know.

Just feels weird and kind of uncomfortable...not really restricting breathing, just not enjoyful to be in, I have only tried it dry and in my house

Pretty standard feeling when putting one on. It'll loosen up / you'll be distracted by jetskiing on the water.

In time it may stretch a little in the overly tight areas

Yea I have a rash guard bottoms and top short sleeve. I did not have that on while trying it on.

For those that aren't 6 years old, it works great on wet suit rash when you ride tanks of fuel in surf.

I wouldn’t use anything petroleum based on the neoprene wetsuits. I’m sure it would shorten the life of it. Maybe afterwards so your skin doesn’t dry out?

Try stretching it out by storing with a large coffee can or similar in the neck.

It will feel better when wet, and will stretch over time.

Yes it's normal, most people's reaction to trying on a wet suit or wearing one is just like yours, not enjoyable! especially around the neck!

The neck seal is very important, it needs to fit snug around the neck to keep water out. My experience is nearly 100% of water getting in a good suit, is entering via the neck seal. It flushes out your warm water film replacing it with cold water, and then gets trapped around your caves and Ankles before draining. Wave and white water action, hitting waves/water head/neck first force the water past a good tight seal.

My suggestion is like already mentioned, ride and wear the suit as is, you'll become accustom to it.

just cut the neoprene neck part off. that part gets gooey after a while if you use sun block and leaves black crap on your neck. if you think a wetsuit is tight, try wearing a dry suit. strangles the licorice out of you!!

Lol, buy a good wetsuit with the new technology. Not some gimmick jet ski brand pos. No one I know has any trouble with their wet suit at all. Getting it on or off, or having it wear out or get gooey. Lmao

Btw, been trying on the wetsuit and basically got used to it. Tried on my wetsuit jacket I will be wearing on top and feel super warm. Actually laid on chest in it and its more comfortable that way and im sure once in the water it will be even nicer lol. All is good!!!
