The fuel knowledge thing sounds like a bummer. On the winner topic for me. I thought Rok brought just a tad more creativity and innovation than Lee did, but they both friggin tore it up and had solid runs. I'm still blown away with the differences in routines from last year to this year. Even my wife literally said, " Holy :):):):) that was awesome!" She said more than that, but...

With all his new tricks? I'm pretty sure Stone was the only one to do a super flip and a scare crow, everyone else just did backflips and spins. If it was a game of horse, stone would have won hands down.

We can always put it to a vote here on the site! Post the top 3 or 4 runs for both days in a poll thread and see where we end up!

Don't forget to use your scoring sheet and give the qualifying 1/3 of the points and main 2/3. Is it just me or is the new system a bit weird? Is there any other sport where they do something like this?

If nobody is bothering to test fuel.. then they are effectively "allowing" competitors to run any fuel they like.

DK obviously knew this in advance. I wonder how many others did as well.

Several years ago when the CC limit was 800cc. Several competitors showed up with 800+ cc motors. Word got out that the IJSBA was going to be checking motor sizes. Everybody was scrambling to either swap to their smaller motors or beg, borrow, steal legal motors. Guess what, I later heard that they never checked motor sizes.

Just because they have not been checking fuel does not mean that they will not check it this time. Again, years ago they started cracking down. People dumped their leaded gas, went and bought clean unleaded, but did not thoroughly clean their tanks and got tested and failed....... Trace amounts were being detected...............

Point being....... Just because Tech is not checking does not make it "OK" to not follow the rules.

I'm saying the sanctioning body in question suffers from a hardcore mental deficiency. It reminds me of some years ago when they were complaining about attendance #'s, and after years of badgering from yours truly, and a few others, finally decided to bring back vintage class in order to somewhat "restore" their attendance levels. Ultimately they really didn't have a choice, because a lot of people who were interested in racing simply could not afford an entry level setup, otherwise.

Thanks for saving the sport bro

It didn't save the sport, It just killed a few birds with one stone. #1) It got them to stop complaining about attendance counts, #2) It brought back 550 class racing. #3) and brought a lot more people into the sport, who otherwise wouldn't have been able to afford it, as well as spurred a few A/m companies into manufacturing parts for the vintage ski, again.

The sport will always be. Although, it will suck if only a handful of individuals are able to afford to participate within it, due to a budget unable in withstanding the bar set by the expense of hydrospaces, GP boats, and setups that require a lot of cabbage to be competitive.

Hey....despite all my :):):):)-talking, I think vintage class is f'n awesome. It was needed, it's freaking entertaining, it shows what once was and it shows what people still do with it. A local buddy has a 550 with a sweet John Deer paintjob and a PJS 800 engine. I love those "old" machines.

Yes. It needs to come back full-swing like it was in the early '90's. I've been harping quite a bit on Ken from OceanPro to start manufacturing parts again, because he's just been trying to sell the company to someone that will pick up basically where he left off. The last conversation we had he stated " well, I'm just going to watch the progress, and we'll see how it goes.." But as far as I know the company is still up for sale with all of the tooling, molds, etc..

Not to derail this thread or anything, although, you are correct.
