By the pics they only look half as wide, meaning you are going to get half of the stability/performance gains?
Folks say tubbies don't hurt flatwater much. I imagine these will hurt flatwater even less while still providing some added buoyancy for surf riding. Are these legal for competition, btw?

Beaching doesn't appear to be an issue w/Tubbies, even non-flat beaching. I dunno about these, which is why I asked. Flat beaching may not be an isues, but if you kinda come in screwy....?
That would depend on how you apply it. I'd have to say you didn't think something through if your side sponson comes off as a result of any kind of beaching...

Anyone have david cabreras email, or someone else who has tested them on an sxr? Id like to see what some racers have to say.

Last I heard was that David was still putting his boat back together since his motor took a crap! As soon as I hear his feedback, I will post it here on this forum.

tubbies is/are the answer
well crap... i just ordered a couple sets of tubbie IIIs... apparently they are molded right off of an SXR hull but they don't have near enough of a curve to fit, maybe I got a bogus batch.

I know how you can make them removable though... im going to do it to my ski actually for testing purposes... i could post pics if anyone is interested...

Here is a pic of a "jack nut" (sorry for the poor pic quality!) It is inserted using a special rivet like tool and allows for a machine screw. My supplier also said that they are also available in brass with a plastic housing making them suitable for marine applications.

I also decided to make this offer availalble only to the first 10 buyers!!
