WHAT!!!!!!! 49mph!!!!

FINALLY Got the octane out after all I put into the motor bought a bushwell radar gun to see what she could do.......Crap best was 49. Sad to say. Looked at the plugs running rich no problem. Going to try tuning the b pipe some and check the wetwolf cone on the pump. I was already thinking have guys who use the protech drop nozzel have problems where the jet moves down under throttle? It looks fine but wondering......... Thanks :)

If you're going for top speed, the wet wolf cone is not your friend. It is designed for bottom-end punch via less pump loading. Not the answer for speed and hookup ability. Beyond that you're probably way too rich. Do as suggested above and tune you carbs...

Nozzle will only move towards neutral position, usually not a problem.

I hated racing against octanes. 1. They were pretty fast. 2. They did not turn well and if you were behind them it was hard to predict how they would turn. I was racing against one at Nationals and could not get past the guy. I could see he was getting tired fighting it. waited until he slid out in a turn to make the pass!

as RMBC/BK said , use the stock cone that came on the ski. it would not hurt to check impeller blades condition as well. dry out the pipe for the optimal temp still in the safe zone.. I'd also wager that your tray foam is wet and heavy as none of the octane had sealed pump inserts and shoddy bond lines.. if you want the 777 to wake up. put some bigger carbs on it. you will never go back to the stock 38/40mm's

yes I understand that. I believe this guy already mentioned in another thread he added protec trim a stubby cone and was having the CDI remapped by watcon. he was asking what mods he needed to make his faster and asking about available parts for sale.

that being said Octane hulls are plagued with water intrusion issues. I have one and have been in this guys shoes when I first bought mine.

This ski was only used maybe twice and put away. Its as new as new can be. too bad I did not radar the top speed first but got caught up in mods and now here I am. Going to tune in the 46 novis dry out the pipe before taking out the wetwolf cone, I guess.

Pipe adjustment, and leaned out the carbs and got 53! A little lean on the bottom. I put 46 novis on and now think I might have to put on a extra fuel pump to get the fuel in faster. The mid is fantastic but the top signs off too early. But better I want at least 56....lol
