I also have that same problem mine is a yb7 solas supra. Is that the wr004 key? That is the one they sent me and it does not work. It almost looks as if the key needs to have rounded half moon type fingers.

I've used a pipe wrench before, it will gouge up the impeller though.

As long as the gouges are on the hub and not the blades I wouldn't sweat filing them down afterwards. It's not like resale is going to be affected a ton on that prop anyways right?

Just remember, reverse threads on those.

the resale on that prop is not much more than $0.

i tried a hammer on the blades, and a pipe wrench. the mofo is really on there... i guess ill grind 2 flat surfaces on the hub, put it in a vice and see if that holds it. hopefully all that torque wont bend my driveshaft..

Can you measure between the flats inside the impeller, just a rough measurement should be fine.

i measured as best i could with a tape. it looks like the openings for the prongs to lock into are about 3/16" on the widest part. they taper more sharply on one side of the curve. the distance from the end of one opening to he start of the next is about 3/8"
is that what you were looking for?

thanks,
Brad

not sure if that makes sense but the space for the prong is sharper on one side so that if you are using the removal tool, you wont be able to tighten the impeller very tight because the tool will slip out due to the roundness of the hole. the other way is cut so it holds the tool better for better grip for removal.
