What are these SuperJets worth if anything?

ok, so I got message from this guy on a local subaru forum the other day saying he had a couple of late 80/90' standups he wanted to get rid of and they were Yamaha's. I figured they were superjets (and there are) so asked for a couple pics (see below).

Here's the deal. He got them from his boss, he can get paper work for both of them he believes. One of them supposedly runs but needs a starter and the other one is supposed to be a parts ski. He doesn't know what they need to get either of them running just doesn't have the time of care to fix them.

What you think I should offer him if I'm interested. I mean they are both covered in leaves and :):):):). They would need a good cleaning for sure.

Ouch, those are going to need a lot of work. They're worth a few hundred total, but wow that'll take some work. I wouldn't expect the 'running' engine to last long if it did start.

i wish i could find that so i could have a couple bottom decks to play with. otherwise i wouldnt offer to much, but there should be some useful parts there.

I figured they would both end up just being parts ski's. So really I could maybe take the one good hull and just start from scratch or maybe get one running an play with it till it blows up and start from there.

In the one picture it looks like water made its way up to the bond line at one point. I would make sure they at least turn over by hand, there may be water in the motor?

i'd pay $250 total for both, max, but start with a low ball offer of like $50-100... take the usable parts from both to build one first, and like you said play with it till it blows... but even if you needed, you could find a running stock $650 engine around here for like $200 to throw in it.

If they don't turn out to be any good, you can get atleast $400 back if you part them out.

minimum estimates =

pumps $75
ebox $75
carbs $40
start/stop switches $30
throttle cables $20
steering cables $30
mid shaft $25

and multiply all of that by 2

$250 tops for the pair and part them out. Clean up the hulls and sell for $250 each with title. There's alot of work right there but some good $$$ too.

They were both titled in 06.

im in mass, if you dont want them, let me know and ill come grab em for cheap..

i've been looking for stupid side project...to get to learn about the engines more..

both have exposed ignitions where the flywheel covers were removed and the one full of leaves has nothing keeping water out of the engine via the carbs. I'd count on the motors being good for cores only.
