What battery should i use?

So i went to take my battery out and noticed its not a marine battery or a gel battery so should i even continue using it??

You order those online or would a marine sell them? Im guessing this is not a gel battery but maybe im wrong.
 
I went to a marina and he said they use the one i have all the time. Its not gel cell battery but its sealed so its okay to tip upside etc. heavy tho.
This is pure newb question but inforget which cable attaches to positive haha. The red to positive?

yes!!!!! red always goes to positive

Best case = a few sparks and a popped fuse
Worst case = the smell of burning plastic

I'm running the Deka 9. It's tiny compared to that car battery you posted above.

Normally this is true, but to be sure, the cable your planning to attach to the negative B- post, follow it with you hand and eyes, it should lead to your engine case or the starters mounting bolt for instance, be careful though as the positive B+ cable attaches to the back of the starter too but not on the case and not on a starter mounting bolt. If your still not sure or uncomfortable post pics to help isolate
