What did I buy? What direction should i go?

I posted this in another spot and thought it best to be here.

I bought someone's stalled 93 SN SJ project and it's my first standup. Project Included 99 WV 760X with dual carbs. Yesterday i purchased Never run since built 3+years ago, 701 - 61x. I'm needing help in identifying the head and some advice on how best to use it. The cylinder head is two shades of purple and has: PSI Racing GENESIS II TYPE 2SJ Patented engraved on top. Pictures below. It has never been run since built. It has been ported and bored not sure the bore. I was able to track down the builder but he could not remember all. There is something special about he pistons (ceramic or teflon) and reeds are carbon fiber or something (maybe they all are) The engine is x61 top and bottom.

What is the head (can't find any real info) I left a message for someone in Utah at PSIpowerinc.com, they appear to do performance upgrades but not on Jet Ski's. I found one listing of it mentioned on this forum. quote "The lower compresion motor cylinder is 1/2 inch taller and head (PSI Racing Genesis II Type 2SJ) is another 1/2 inch taller the the West Coast head" I don't know what characteristics this adds.

I'm considering using the bottom end of the 760 62t and use two carbs.

My project lacks exhaust/waterbox and not sure what route to go at this point. Cost is a factor in the decision. At this point I'm gathering stock exhaust items as i look for reasonable deals on aftermarket.

Ski Ya, Paul

For a first stand up i would of purchased a completely stock ski to get you out riding and enjoying yourself. If you've purchased a project that hasn't been on the water in a few years you might not be getting it back on the water as soon as you would like.

If it wasn't stored properly it could have damaged bearings, crank seals, clogged carbs and might just be a total nightmare. Good Luck

honestly it's going to be way cheaper just to buy a ready to ride ski then try to piece all that together Into something you're going to be trouble shooting for weeks. sell all that and buy complete. it's going to be cheaper and you'll thank me later.

The 701 was not part of the project- I bought it a few days ago and wanted to get info on the cylinder head. The engine is a quality build. It's never been fired since bored, ported, complete rebuild. teflon pistions and special reeds. x61 stored indoors for last 3 years. It's perfect. The project i bought is complete except for water box and exhaust and grate. Trying to track these down now. Project came with 760 62-T and dual carbs. (engine good carbs need rebuilt) I'm going to sell 760 and put in the 701. - For me- the build is 60% of the joy. No money to buy a trainer ski to train on .
