The gf built a Polynesian chicken and rice dinner a couple of days ago. It was the first time I have ever had it and I tells ya, it was somethin awesome. The sauce caramelized just enough to be sticky but still slightly runny which made a great topping on the rice. It didn't look like what I can find through an online search, the sauce was dark like a Teriyaki sauce unlike the more honey gold kind of color seen online, it had a bit of a similar taste but it was much more flavorful than Teriyaki. It was one of the best meals I've had in awhile.

Nothing, I have a wife.
That sucks. The best cooks are men. And all my married buddies eat the same 12 meals on rotation. Prove the stereotype wrong

Haven't tried sou vide yet. My mom loves it. I'm a cast iron kinda guy

All you guys with "wives" how often do you eat steak? And how often do you eat what pinterest or instagram said was good? Imagine bragging about your wife cooking your steak. Lmfao. I was born in the wrong time

Grew the carrots, celery, and onion. Raised and butchered the chicken. Made the broth. Bought the flour to make the dumplings tho.

Soup weather round these parts.

Chicken drummies, smoked on the Vortex.
If you have a kettle, get a vortex. Makes so many things incredible. Crispy chicken skin is heavenly.

Aunt and uncle requested smoked lamb chops so I decided to give it a go.
Smoked to 115, then seared on the Blackstone. Turned out absolutely perfect!
I was a little hesitant to do lamb because I've had it in the past and it was too gamey. But this wasn't gamey at all! IMG_20240331_160732.jpg

Had the neighbors over for a cookout Saturday night and got talking about the campfire breakfast we did the previous weekend so we decided to do it again.

Dinner was a rack of baby back ribs, seasoned potatoes, bacon wrapped pork medallions and lamb t-bones.
