you can use 2 types of resin- epoxy or SMC resin. SMC is the best for the old X2's. Then layer your glass whatever you choose to use to be about 1/8" to 3/16th thick.

3:1 epoxy laminating resin and fiberglass. I prefer to work with 1208.

You also need foam or something else to lay the glass over to make the shape (think about a balloon with paper machete), rollers, acetone, brushes among a few other things.

before you buy any materials or cut anything on your ski, buy some literature about doing fiberglass work and resins. youll need to understand how it works and the different ways to do the glass work. youll need a fair amount of body tools to do body work. and knowing how to do body work. fiberglass work is not the easiest to do and you can really mess up your hull and waste lots of money because it isnt cheap. but it isnt that hard to learn. west systems epoxy from west marine has some very informative literature you can purchase to read about epoxy and what all can be done with it before attempting to do any work. i added a photo of some books about epoxy resins and all of the uses of it.
