What engine to build

Hey there guys. I have a 2008 Superjet with almost everything wrong. Only thing that doesn't need attention is fixing cracks on the hull. Note I said cracks. It still needs a fresh paint job. Past owner left it outside uncovered it's whole life. I got it cheap because it also had a seized engine because of water intrusion. It's all apart and I plan on doing a full build thread on it. I have its original engine and I have a complete 760 (electronics and all). Both need rebuilding totally. 760 needs the bottom case welded after it threw a rod in my WB2. It's cracked but repairable. I've never seen anyone use stock 700 exhaust on a 760. I don't want to use an aftermarket pipe yet. Will they be compatible? I know it will bolt up, but how will it run being port size and timings are probably different.
Thanks for any info. Will start putting up start pics up soon

What's your budget? 760 port timing with a stock pipe, ignition, and compression will not be well suited for a superjet due to the high port timing. If you don't plan on modifying anything else, just rebuild the original 61x/62t motor and run it with the dual 38s.

You can run a 760 with your stock 701 exhaust and stock head. It's probably not "ideal" for flat water freestyle, but it is noticeably more powerful than stock.

Many racers use a 760 in their stock class setups. I'm actually building one now.

What are your overall plans for the ski?

Rec riding?
Surf?
Race?

With that kinda budget, might as well have CPT/Nuklear6 work up some magic with your 760 cylinder, pickup a head and a b pipe and you'll be satisfied for quite a while and definitely under your budget!

Ski will be used for rec riding. I'll go in the surf sometimes to play around but I also like ripping through turns. I don't plan on racing. Thanks for the feedback

Ok finally getting some time to work on the ski. Just bought a house a few months back and have had some family issues to deal with. Been kinda crazy around here. So ski has been turn all the way down. Only thing that was left is my stuck pump into the short shaft. Pump was coming out because of a seized impeller housing and to redo the bearings. Some light persuasion couldn't get the pump out. So after jamming a pry bar into the impeller and pulling off the coupler, I could soaked the shafts and hopefully drive out. Success.
