Other What is my cylinder worth?

I have an R&D/Dasa cylinder that was overported from what I was told by Art. It is not good for freestyle and may have caused my 2 cranks to go out.
So I am unsure if the cylinder can be resleaved or ports welded or its scrap. I want to get rid of it but I dont have a clue what to sell it for if it has any value.
I am tired of collecting parts.
Thanks for the help.

How long did your cranks last and what compression were you running? What bore is it at and are the pistons/cylinder bores clean with good/even compression?

that cylinder is junk..... just send it to me and I'll dispose of it.

but seriously, IDK. Never really messed with used big motors. Only ones I've owned I've assembled brand with brand new parts myself. Good luck on the sale.

Compression was 180 ish. Don't remember but it was even. It was rebuilt with a new crank about a year and a half ago. I did have cooling plug that popped out of the pump so I ran it a little hot a few times in the spring last year. That may have contributed to the crank failure but both.cranks went out in the middle bearings. Ran 40:1 oil.

You really should ask what about it was over ported. If port width is the issue. Then there is not much that can be done to save it. If port height (timing and duration) is the issue you MAY be able to lower the cylinder down and run more piston pop up to get desired timing. If it's a Stroker then the above probably won't work due to the Stroker prob already having some pop up already. Any more the .150" pop up on Yamaha style pistons is dangerous. I don't like running even that much.

Well I think I am going to hold on to it. I have gotten offers for 150-200 bucks for the head, pistons and cylinder and if its thats all its worth then I will put it on the vxr and see what happens or find some new sleeves.

I assumed it was worth more than a 61x cylinder at least.
Thanks for the replies.

I wouldn't give up on that cylinder too quick I built a motor out of one of them cylinders ad loved it. Only reason I sold it was to get my 1000. Theirs a number of variables of why you were told That cylinder isn't good for your application. can you tell us more about it such as over height of the cylinder,ex port width, and if possible the port timing and what stroke crank you have?
I took this exact cylinder setup for a 6mm crank and turned it into a 89mm bore with stock stroke crank very good motor

yea, I still have it. Going to hold on to it for now. I had Nuclear check them out (super great dude). He measured tham and thinks I can mill the cases or cylinder 2mm and be right in for freestyle.

So I may go that route just dont know when.
