Super Jet what is this on my hull?

So had my ski on the davit today, For some reason no matter how I ride this thing it still hops alot in the water. Maybe I weigh to much and im not doing it right. But I noticed this on my hull. Mounted very sadly with 3 screws and some cheapy auto sealer stuff. Im hopeing there isnt a hole or soft spot underneith it. Sorry for the bad pic, but it looks like a 'tubby' type deal underneith the hull right before the intake grate. Im wondering if this is causing my rocking and hopping, along with stability issues. Thanks

will do tomorrow for sure. how could I seal up those holes from the screws? I was planning on stripping the hull down and painting it after this summer. Could I used 5200? or epoxy?

That is what was known as a vortex bubble. They were popular on race skiis back in the early 90's
just remove it and fill the holes with marine-tex.....
I would say its probably the cause of your issues

I just bought the marine tex. Took it off. took for a quick ride and it rides much better. still hops at speed but i can turn so much better. Thanks for the info.
