What is this?

The thing screwed on between the sleeves.

I have always wondered what this is for. I am guessing something to do with water/cooling. Does anyone know exactly what it does? What happens if it is missing?

i thinks its the sacrificial anode. supposed to keep corrosion off the inside and draw it there.


again i think, this is how i remember it anyway. please chim in if i am wrong here guys.

I thought it was a racing weight and the freestyle guys were suppose to remove it. My ski never had one but the screw was bounding around in the water jacket.

^^^^^^ These guys are right. Its a zinc anode. You gotta have it if you ride the salt. No substitute for flushing with fresh though.

Thats where you attach the powerband. And if you can only see the screw and nothing else you know you've revved the engine too much and snapped it!!!
