Other What kind of quad should I get...?

Right on. The early Rhinos are very short and narrow. I had one for a bit. It did turn a bit wider than a large ATV but not too much...

You said you do not want to get stuck at a ramp with a heavy superjet... is that due to soft ground? Or just the atv overcoming the weight of the ski?

I’ve considered that but i think I’d like to stay with an atv. Our ramp is narrow and depending how the beach is settled there isn’t a lot of room to turn around.
I haul lots of stuff, such as logs—like 1000 lbs logs—out of my woods with a yamaha kodiak 700 (EPS SE model). Plenty of power even in snow, mud, hills. The SE models have not just push button 4WD, but also locking diffs (like the grizzly, but less $) Locking diffs are the bomb. Lots of folks trail ride and such, which is great, but the kodiak was made for work, first. It’s just less of the other stuff (ex: storage compartments). There are still 2018 models around here (power steering, locking diffs, 2” receiver, EFI) for like $7500 plus tax, title, pile o’ fees, etc. Easily under 10 when done. Non power steering is a cheaper option, but not with the locking diffs if I recall right. Used or a used grizzly with lockers can be had for a bit less. I don’t see many newer used ones for sale, though, so new just is easier/faster. Point is they are work horses, and not too expensive, by design.

A little of both. The sand/tiny rock is extremely soft at the shore line. The atv just digs itself in.

The grizzly has been on my search list. You are correct, not many used ones for sale. So far that's what I think would be best.

I was told that around here the numbers are like 50 kodiaks sold for every 3 or 4 grizzlies. For what that’s worth. Neither are abundant on the used market. But right now, there are promotions making grizzlies about the same price as a kodiak (2019s). Happy shopping!

just buy a new polaris sportsman, you can get brand new with a warranty for like 6k and not have to worry about it again. people around me seem to think their 12 year old clapped out sportsman 500 with 5k miles on them are worth 3500 - 5500.... i swear the used atv market is worse than the superjet market.

Golf cart works great for me..... well, slightly modified cart. This is running a Honda V-twin, 670 cc, engine, slightly lifted, full cage, seating for 4, tow hitch, foil rack, roof rack, etc.
Only have about 2 blocks to go to get to the beach, and it does about 30+ mph. Does great!
