I have an XL Hyperlite jacket that I am wearing now, but I noticed the other day if I blow all the air out of my lungs I sink like a rock... So looking for a new comfortable USCG approved vest that will keep me afloat if I crash hard enough and fill my lungs up with water.

I actually traded in my jet pilot and I have been wearing a el-cheapo from wal mart. Its comfortable, not restricting, and not as bulky. I am 220 and I keeps me afloat in the situations I have tested it in.

I have a jetpilot side entry I like but I'm thinking about picking up a burn industries nitro vest. I don't think they're CGA but way less restrictive. Plus mine rides up like crazy when I'm in the water.

Has to be USCG approved. I get stopped at least once a year and checked. "We have had other people out here like you that wear those outlaw vests"

I wear one of those outlaw vests (Jettribe, Race) and it floats me fine. I bought it this spring when I was 225 and I'm now at 200. It does seem to ride up a bit but I find that's more related to the shape of my torso than anything else.

I have the oneill revenge. I'm 6'4 and 150. It's long and fits well. Most vests are short and don't fit a guy with a long torso very well

I'm also 6'4 and the jetpilot apex vest is nice and long.

I had a jet pilot vest before and it was awkward. To me it felt like the front was 4 inches thick.

Indeed they are, that big ole pad is a chest protector, I've been using the jetpilots for years and love them, at 6'2 200 I'm usually so far over the front of the boat in corners that my hand pole smacks my chest so hard I've gotten the wind knocked out me several times but not once have I broken any ribs
