What makes a good "hood seal"?

I read a lot of post and builds on people using different setups of hood seals instead of OEM. Is there anything better out there, or is OEM the way to go? Looking for something cheaper then OEM, my project fund is starting to run low (unless you would like to donate to a great cause and build) - lol. If you can, let me know what some other ideas you guys have came up with.

The stuff from britech sounds cool... never heard any reviews about it though...

OEM is what I always get... but I might try that stuff if I had some and needed a new seal.

What he said, anything else is crap IMO. Spend the extra bucks and it will be one less future problem to deal with.

i have oem hoodhooks and hood receptors
so i have the oem seal and it seems like the front hood by the handlepole bracket doesnt seat in the middle of the seal and not causing it so sandwich it. any way to change this anyone else notice this also an lil rip near the front also.
i did one day get it to seal in the middle but it took a lil longer.

The Britech seal was waaaaaay too thin and foamy.

Flat water = OEM. Your hood will slide side to side to much with the JS Solutions one
Surf= make your own from Hydro turf- be sure and make a little lip on the sides so your hood won’t slide when you start doing rolls. Check mine-

I like my XFT hood seal so far. I know freestyle geek has been happy with his as well.

I've used Britech and OEM. OEM is much better as long as your careful and make sure your hood it on properly not squishing any corners.

OEM only..... I have been through the JSS hood seals.......... if all your going to do is ride around and not do any tricks, then your fine........ if your going to even think of attempting a Nose Stab or Barrel Roll dont waste your money.

xft only becuase one they are only $40 two they seal way better than the oem

I need to take pictures of my 24/7 hood hooks after 3 seasons of running the JSS gasket, it allowed the hood to move so much that the hooks on the hood ground out groves on the 24/7's. This was from side to side movement.
