300/440/550 What premix ratio do you run?

I have a stock JS 550, and the oil cap says that I it drinks 40:1. I've hard others say that you can run 50:1 safely- is that true? What do you run in yours?

50-1 in my wife's 92 550sx, 1/2 pipe, sbn carb conversion, 15 skat prop.

i was running 50/1 but am moving to 40:1 this spring on two fresh builds. its safe insurance thats cheap.

I figure the engineers have done the research and testing to know exactly what the mix ratio should be when they slap that sticker on the ski. So I follow what the sticker says

I know from racing motorcycles that more oil is better... yeah it smokes more but you get a better ring seal and thus more power, less resistance, and less wear.

40:1 for me in a 550 with stock prop, SBN 44, and westcoast pipe and manifold. Oil is goooood Lube!!
