Ok, my ski runs real good, but I do not believe my prop is the right pitch for these mods.

It is a skat prop, which was on it when I bought it. The motor than was 100% stock. Im not sure on the pitch.

So what would be the best prop/pitch for my ski, I know I can get more low end pop off a wave on this thing. :brap:

I have your exact setup, but with an Enhancer and I am running the 12/17 Swirl. It has great low end snap and good pull all they up in into the midrange. The top end isn't bad, but it's definitely not something to write home about. A lot of people have ridden my boat and are always surprised at how snappy it is right off the bottom and I'm pretty happy with it.

It was either the 12/17 or the 13/17 swirl and a guy at Skat recommended the 12/17 for my application. If you shop around you can find one new for around $200 or less.

Brian, my boat has a solas concord for reference but I believe its not cutback(probably a 13/17 on there but never checked).

Get one from impros cutback(13/16 or 13/15) and youll enjoy the increased bottom end.

It is to my understanding that the cutback doesn't help with bottom end. I was always told the major benefit of cutting it back is that the pump will stay hooked up better which I guess you could say also improves bottom end because you will be hooked up better. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.:dunno:

im with stock fa's and im running all screens, i went to pull out 2 screens and it ran like crap and i already had it dialed in with 3 so i just put them back in

by cutting/setting back the impeller you are shortening the distance to the vanes and nozzle. This produces thrust much sooner than a stock setting which improves hookup. actual bottom end acceleration (whith the pump fully loaded) is dictated by the trailing edge.

Hope this helps,

G

12/17 skat swirl or 13/15 solas concord, both would be fine. The cheaper route would be a used Solas I prop but, it will be fine but not as good as the formentioned 2.
