Yeah, and important thing about the VForce reeds....if the engne is sunk, you will need to tip the ski over to let all the water drain out....it is fatal for the reeds to just take the plugs out and crank it.

quick question how would ones ski preform if your reeds were shot

i sunk mine a little while ago! cranked it a few times then tipped it over (exhaust side) and cranked some more now its running like ******** and this thread got me thinking it might be worth pulling my manifold and having a look

With any ski that had water intrusion...Mandatory to pull reed valves and inspect, You can waste so much time trying to find out why it won't run right if their bad! Just just do it and then you can move on to things like cleaning the water out of the carbs, stator cover and the elec. box...
I do a 750 kaw reed cage conversion (w/x-metal reed spacer/carbon tech petals/lasts forever) that works very good up to 860cc's...then vf2. If you run the single carb w vf2's... USE the ATP manifold!

Broken reeds are immediately noticable. The ski won't run right at all, and you will have gas/oil/water mix in the flame arrestor. That's usually a telltale sign of a broken reed.

i smashed a reed today on my ski
serves me right for putting v-force at the low tension setting
but it was screaming before it broke

I have new up[dated porting and even with 48s this thing is a missle off the bottom

I gave it a huge handfull today and it scared the crap out of me as it jumped sideways and spun inthe air

Cant wait to get the lamey going

I know everyone has different experiences, but I have filled my engine with water many times and it has never caused any problems with my v2s. Great now I just jinxed myself. DAMMIT!!:banghead:

The ATP manifold is amazing, really sano peice of kit - you could put it on a plint on the fire place and just look at it!! mmm shiny billet!!

I use Boysean triple stage reeds on Full Spectrum 48's - just fitted them and so far so good!

Filling it with water isn't what kills it...it's cranking it (plugs out) to shoot water out that will break reeds.

i just rebuilt my carb and after setting the pop off started it and it ran great shut it off and the next day when i went to fire it up it hydro locked.i found out the pop off stuck open and drained the engine full of gas. now i need new reeds they were stock but it deformed them so they dont seal and to top it off tore one of my almost new msd spark plug caps.
