Lots of R&D LOL! Jason already did his new one and it turned out cherry. Just measured from the bottom 2" and angled the lines going up. Cut and glass, well theres more than that of course. His hull is split if that makes a difference. Biggest thing is the ride plate inserts and a ride plate for a short hull.

SO they leak a little..Does that out way the beneift of emptying the entire hull in like 5 seconds? For some maybe, like a rec rider who goes out and ride on his lake for fun. I compete and having a 2 minute run, i cant afford to be waiting for my duel bigle pumps to pump out the water which takes alot longer. With a scupper, by the time i get to my next set up wake it will be all gone with the scupper. A scupper will leak a little, and if installed right, hardly any. Its a personal choice and i know that but its the benifits that out weigh the risks.

i wasnt trying to say "no dont run them" they are great in my opinion
i installed an xmetal correctly yet they still leak
i take a few breaks here and there so i helps not to have to worry about it
on the other hand my friend has a wammer(old style) scupper on his octane and that thing is great...very strong and sticks shut

but if you like the looks go for it
if i were to do it again i would have put some onways in there as well

thanks
Brenden

You want the thin walled sprinkler irrigation pipe and you wont find it at Lowes or Home Depot.
You can use the regular PVC 2" id stuff and it will work fine, but you will have to notch out on the pipe with a dremel where the nuts on the back of the scupper plate recess into the pipe. Its no big deal, but if you can find the thin walled stuff then your golden and you will shave .0045 lbs of weight too! lol

I've have 24/7 on my square and a x-metal on my round and they both leak the same. Replacing the rubber is the only way to keep them working and sealing the best because they loose their memory. My X-metal is new with maybe 8-10 hours of riding time on it and its already starting to hang open.

corey with the tray open you should think about doing the inline oneway scupper combo out the back and if you really wont to a oneway pump dump out out the right.. this way leakage is not a problem.

just remember the bilges stop working at the worst moment, trust me. knowone wonts to run out of gas in the middle of the channel and have the battery die and a ski slowly start to skinkk, or at lease i wouldn't.

next winter I will tear out the 2" pvc from the scupper and just run with out the pipe(heavy). I've seen people do it, the foam doesn't stay wet. it's as easy as drill one hole on the rear and one in the engine compartment, and then remove any foam in there. I just put a scupper on my bros SJ, damn there must have been a gal of water in there. As far as leaking, ah.....who cares.:dunno: I've got Wamiltons scupper. for a budget job just get one from www.iboats.com $2.95 the shipping cost more. look up scupper flapper

It was the pump dump one I was thinking about, thats the coolest/crazyest set up. With a strait tube I can see it being done.

Corey, you cut the tray up yet?
Dont have to split for the pump dump either. Jacob06 has dual 3" pump dumps with the xft scupper tunnels and the hull was never split. This can all be done with the tray open for refoam.
