What size spring in the start stop switch?

my wife and I just drove 7 hours to a new lake and sure enough my start stop switch in my fx1 failed. It acts like there is no lanyard. Somehow while wiggling it we got it to start once but that was it. I've been screwing with it for over an hour. I think that little spring is bad. There is an ace hardware a half hour away or so. I'm hoping if I can just go buy a spring it will fix my problem. Anyone know what size it is so I can call before I drive down there?

Did you open up the lanyard portion and clean the contacts? I feel like that part of the switches goes bad more frequently. Be careful when if/when you open the lanyard switch....there are two little springs and two little H-shaped brass pieces.

Ya I tried that. Almost lost one of the H shaped pieces. It fell out when I opened that assembly. Is that supposed to come out because the other piece stayed in? Tried cleaning everything and nothing seemed to work... gonna head to ace tomorrow and see if they have what I need. Fingers crossed.
