What ski is right for me?? I have 10,000 to spend!

Hi everyone,

I was wondering what the rright ski for me would be. I use to own a polaris octane and loved it although it was hard to turn. What I like most about it was the stable hull. What after market hulls are as wide as the octane or as stable. Do they have the same trey width?

My riding style is mostly inland flat water lakes. I am looking to go fast about 60mph and also jump the ski. can someone lead me into the right direction as far as hull setup or know anyon sellling something that I am looking for? I am ready to buy, just want a fun fast ski where I can ride all day and jump waves, but be as powerful and as stable as my old octane.

thanks

Superjet all the way. Then talk with the racers on here how to make it turn better. Aftermarket hulls are short with rocker and built to flip and spin. They will not ride and turn like what you are looking for. Perhaps even a sxr but they are heavy. And any aftermarket race hull will be tough to find.

If you want speed and agility why not go for an SXR based AM hull?

This^ if you want a wide hull that is stable and fast go with an SXR. If you are wanting a more "playful" ski go with a Superjet. You can find both with all the goodies etc for less then 10k.

If you want something that rides like an Octane but turns, then make your Octane turn. Quick steer at the bars and nozzle, clearance the nozzles to get more through, switch to a super jet cable for more throw, shorten or D-cut the ride plate. Some tubbies may help you too, and get a good grate on there!

I don't know if I'd use the Rok to go fast as he stated he wants in OP. It's stable, but I think a little to short.

I see your point. I've ridden two different ROK's that I thought were very stable though. I found my SJ (but its -2, carbon topdeck, and no tubbies) to be less stable and harder to corner than the ROK's.

It's all personal preference. I would recommend the OP try to get a test ride on one if he can find one close to him.

Because its a -2, you lost some stability. I found the Rok to be stable in a straight line, but slid in the turns.

Hell yes Yamaha powered light SXR! Trinity or WDK Envy.

I have been debating a second hull and I just talked to Jeff. I love my Envy (light SXR with Yamaha motor/pump) so much I am considering getting another one but like 27lbs. lighter...
