I like 4 degrees too.
Also UMI just redesigned there steering to use a castle nut and cotter pin so it can't come loose. I have the new UMI sitting on my bench. I'll give a review after I finish my surf boat

That would defiantly be something to look into. I don't have a problem with my steering coming loose, but if that system works, it will make a lot of riders happy. :Banane01:

yea im gonna purchace a sealed bearing system this week...my modded stocker isnt cutting it anymore..too wobbly

I have only run UMI so I can't say how it compares to the others. But if you go with UMI, I would get the stainless berring from Jet Ski Solutions as well as the tuff thrust kit. I know its another $40 ontop of the other UMI stuff but it makes the system last much longer.

I'm not sure if John always does this, but he sold me a new UMI steering system for the normal new price, but he swapped out the bearing for a SS bearing and the washer for a Tuff Thrust Washer for free. I don't think it gets any better than that.

I'm also running a Wamiltons Shortened Turn Plate that accepts 0Deg/4Deg bars or straight bars.

WDK has the complete setup for like $209, bearing / mount / bar clamps / steering plate and bars $209.00 cant beat the price and it appears to be beefy, I have not used it yet, but I have touched it and fondled it some.

if your UMI comes loose just drill a hole through the stud and put a cotter pin through it. that will solve your problem, thats what i did and it works great.

I have it and I like it. I have used UMI since 2002 and I have this for a short time but the quality is outstanding.

I thought this too until I saw toby break the UMI stud plum off (not drilled)loosing his steering in the middle of a huge nose stap off a 5' wake. I am no longer a fan of the very expensive UMI, I have one of mine and purchased a WDK, reviews will follow once I actually put them thru the test. Seems like a nice system.

I like my 4 degs and my UMI w/ Cotter pin works reasonably well.. but I have very minimal hrs on it.. TBM just started selling Star bars that fit normal turn plates.. just a different route to go..
