What to do if your ski si one giant stress crack..

[SXR-FOREVER]

After 2.5 years of lake riding and 2 trips to the ocean there isnt a square foot on my SXR that doens't have stress cracks. So what the hell do I do now? How much work is it to repair it all etc? Cheaper to just buy a new hull? Leave it?

unless there are mo major cracks that have gone right through, I woul just leave it. Stress cracks I believe are just cracks in the gel coat, but I may be wrong.

yeah, it is just in the gelcoat.......... you could be fine, one side of my hull is cracked from getting tagged in a corner.

Wont be able to afford anything like that till I graduate from college in a few years...


Well I guess I'll just leave it, I have a few cracks that have gone through on my bond line and my blwosion one way is cracked and broke away form the hull so the foam is soaked...yay for winter projects!

my old sxr hard some strees cracks in the get coat, but nothing I could see that went all the way through... There really alot under the bond rail

Those cracks are just in the gell coat.

IMO replacing the hull will mean you will crack another hull apart. Reinforcement/repair will give you a stronger boat in the long run.

seems like sxr's crack ALOT... mine has cracks around the pole mount, bond rails and gunwails.... not to mention I just ripped apart both my rail caps from lake riding... quality stuff here!
