Hey there...

Im finally gonna buy a torque wrench. No more snaped bolts hopefully!!!

Im gonna need like 0-120 inch-lbs for the superjet right? I'm just guessing.
Id like to get the most versitle one I can so i can use it on ski, truck, etc...

Any one have a used one for sale?
What kind or brand do you recomend?

Thanks-NICK

well, everyones gonna say snap-on.....but if you dont have 200 bones for a wrench, I bought mine at autozone for like 35 and for the amount it gets used it works perfect!

craftsman also makes some nice ones...you'll want 3/8's with a 1/2 adaptor as well....

You might think the $35 one is good until you break your exhaust from the wrench not working right .
I broke my gp 1200 exhaust cranking away on my CRAFTSMAN torque wrench (not gauranteed for life ) than had to buy a new exhaust manifold .:banghead: and a new wrench (snap on )

Get a good one and it will last the rest of your life and is well worth it .

If I had bought a snap on in the first place I wouldn't have had to buy a new exhaust manifold and missed two weeks of riding in the summer waiting for the part and had to buy a new wrench too .:frown:

That's what I thought too and after 1 year it broke my exhaust and is not gauranteed like the rest of their tools .:banghead:

Skip the craftsman but I love the rest of their tools

My MAC was about $200.00 and is a 10-75 ft lb wrench. REALLY like it. It's also a flex-head. Very nice. Worth every penny.

If I remember right, most torque wrenches aren't guaranteed for life because they are calibration tools, so they only have a limited warranty say 90 days or maybe a year if that.

Remember, if you use your torque wrench a lot, you will have to get it calibrated every couple years or so, as they do lose calibration after many usage.

If your not going to be using your torque wrench that much, Id pick up a craftsman torque wrench. It will do every job you need it for since its mainly for the weekend warrior

If you want high end, top of the line, and are assembling a bunch of skis daily, then pick up a snap on or mac torque wrench.

Hope this helps.

I used my craftsmans twice in a year and the second time it broke my exhaust system so I'm not saying all of them are junk but mine was .

I keep my tools in a dry place and take good care of them so I was shocked when this tool failed .I have all craftsman tools and love em (maybe I got a lemon ) who knows but it cost me hundreds of dallars and precious ride time in New England in the summer :banghead:

just make sure to test it before yo put it to your ski .
Put a 10 MM bolt in a vice and set it to whatever tourque your wanting and make sure it doesn't break the bolt .

FOR SALE 1/2 craftsman tourque wrench ,you pay shipping and handling .
I use it to break free rusted bolts now as it is 18 inches long

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF SNAP ON TOURQUES HAVE A LIFETIME WARRANTY ????

he depended solely on the torque wrench and wasnt paying attention to his mental "umph" meter that was screaming for him to stop.

It was turning like it wasn't even threaded yet ,I could have had 1 pinky on this thing and it would have broke :banghead:

it's a 2 ft ratchet turning a 12mm bolt .it felt like I was turning it in just to tighten it and it was broke already .
Picture the top of the b-pipe where it mounts to the manifold how it has 3 bolts there and it broke one of the flat surfaces .

Ya I learned a hard lesson but it was near impossible to tell with a 1/2 inch 2 ft long ratchet turning a 12 mm bolt .i know better now of course but don't trust your touque wrench .

hey charlie, stick it up your ass with that big logo pal
you exotic designs whore

I could use it as a breaker bar...
I'll pay shipping for it!

I use a Proto. Pretty sure its a lifetime guarantee but like all other torque wrenches must be calibrated occasionally. I will say it is the only wrench that I never let anyone touch and I always keep it stored in its protective case after completely wiping it down with a clean dry cloth.

I have one too. Worked perfect for 3 years now. No problems.

I think they need to blame there exhaust problems on something else.
