but what type to use to pickle a bendix?

Do you use Dexron/Mercon or Type F?

i use Dexron/Mercon and let it sit submerged for a day or 2 then let drain for a day or so.

ATF has alot of detergents for keeping the gears and moving parts clean. soaking a bendix in it is just gooooood. it won't fix a buggered one but if your taking it out for maint. then a good soaking never hurt.
