What will these do for me??

Hot products offers dual 44's and 46 mikunis mounted on an intake manifold.

I'm currently running Stock 38's, B pipe w/mod chamber, bored .5 over and throwing on an ADA head w/35cc domes. Will i feel much of a difference??? Trying to get a good surf boat together. Thanks in advance.

No. I wouldn't worry about it.

Maybe once you port & bore up, but right now, it's pissing money in the wind.

Be easy now Matt, With my jetting/manifold/reed/spacer set-up on duals they work very well and will hit better than stock carbs and have more throttle control in the surf. I don't think I have ever built/set-up one of my freestyle intake systems for you...

Hey Chuckie, I have a set you did for Derek a few years ago, what all do you do to them.....

But, yes, to answer the original question, with a pipe, head and prop, this would be a good setup, I would stick with 44's.........

get some and send them to Chuckie............you will not regret it.

I would love to be using my twin 44 / 46 carb setup I have but just can't sacrifice the added fuel consumption. A good portion of my riding takes me far away from fuel cans or between fuel docks so I'll stick to dual 38's for now.

I vote for twin 44's or a monster single 48mm if you don't mind the jerky transition.

my 61x is single, anyone want to trade for their 62t?
Dude, my old SN had a 61x with a single 46mm and it was the best carb setup ever with instant bottom and I could run WOT for miles.

No question that modified carbs would be better.
But switching from OEM 38's to OEM 44's on an unported engine? I don't think that's worth the money spent.
That money could be spent on other mods at this point in time.

JMHO.

Yes, they are modified, but with jetting circuitry only, jets, and pop-off.
As long as you have great condition set of 44mm or 46mm's carbs, it's a fairly inexpensive way to go when compared to aftermarket (full specs, novis, blackjacks, etc,) carb prices.

Sanford, I switched from OEM38s to OEM44s & didn't see any real difference in fuel consumption. I too venture miles up the coast away from the launch area & this was a real concern (especially going big bore) but so far I run out of gas before the ski does...

The transition from just off idle to when it comes on the pipe IS more abrupt, but you come to love it in the surf - unless it's really big.:sneaky:

Just for your info. I run Novi Maxflow 46's for freeride, and 48's for racing.

If you can afford it, they are the way to go. The difference between normal 46's and Novi's is HUGE. I didn't think it would make that much difference, but the throttle response is so much better it's not funny.

My engine is heavily ported, and the 46's work really well with it, as most of my power band is in the midrange, where bigger carbs really come to life.

Just my experience....;)

Personally if it was for a surf boat I would put that money towards reinforcing, aftermarket hood/nose piece, and aftermarket handlepole if you haven't already done so.

I don't know what you have done to your ski and what your riding ability is, but I'm running an identical setup and it's plenty of power for me in the surf. I've only been back in the sport for about 6 months now so my riding is still progressing. I'm sure I'll want more power as my abilities progress and you can always use that extra power on flatwater.

If I had the money to spend I would get a nice hood/nosepiece and handlepole instead of spending money on 44's when I've ridden 44's on identical boats to mine and felt no real advantage. For now my stock hood and shortened stock handlepole will have to do.
