Prices on 701's have really dropped lately.

Couple years back I was getting $700 for a 61x shortblock shipped.

Now you are lucky to get $500 for a complete one. They are worth about the total of their parts(sometimes worth MORE in parts)

I just built a ported 61x for around $550 after gaskets and miscellaneous things. Not a bad price imo

Without being able to carefully inspect all of the parts individually, it only a core for overhaul. There are plenty of people that dont know the difference and will pay $500.
