What's a low compression 61x worth

Long story short I let a friend borrow my backup sit down 95 wr111 gp with the 61x in it. He ran it out of oil and pto side compression is down to 70 mag is 140. If I spend the time and money rebuilding it then I'm putting it in something that's not a wr 3. It will still start barely.

A pair of pistons cost about 200$ for a complete set with wrist pin bearings, unless you just want to do the one bad cylinder.
Boring is anywhere from 60-100$ a hole depending where you go
I'd be worried about the condition of your crank.
If it's just the top end, gaskets cost between 40-70$ if you choose oem. Oem head gaskets are pricey!
If the crank is shot, you're looking between 250$-500$+ for a new or remanufactured one.
For reference, you can find 61x motors for under 500$ for a bare short block.. But of course the crank is in unknown condition unless you tear it down.

If you are interested, I have Pro-X piston kits, 82mm size, for $130 including shipping for two complete sets. Boring averages $50 per hole. Chances are your crank is perfectly fine, it's tough to kill an OEM Yamaha the way you described.

Where do you find someone that bores for 50$ per hole?

Let me reword that. What would a wr 3 with a 61x bring parting it out. If I keep the wr 3 then I will just send it to sbt over the winter for 495. If I build it using oem-quality parts I will fine a Sj that still has a 650 and just swap the 2

My cylinder was $40 per hole to go a full 1mm over. I don't think I've ever paid over $300 to bore a small block chevy or ford either.
