ive been wanting to start this thread for a while.

i'm in the process of completly re-doing my tools to bring with me riding. now that i'm working another mechanic job. i need to buy more extra tools.

besides normal hand tools what else have you ever found "nifty" to bring. and or what type of hardware do you bring. to save your weekend trip.
i'm working on getting a tackle box with hardware and other supplies to just bring with me everywhere i go.

I found an all plastic tool box.

Screw driver with interchangeable tips (has like 20 tips, different sizes, magnetic and standard size not ratchet so it fits everywhere a normal driver does)
Stubby flat and phillips
Long flat and phillips
3/8" ratchet set, medium extension, short extension
Wrench set
90* ratcheting screw driver that takes the little bits from above
pliers
adjustable pliers
locking pliers
plug wrench
needle nose pliers

blue locktite
electrical contact cleaner
dielectric grease
wd40
starter fluid
spray silicone
straw for sprays

box of left over misc hardware from all the skis I've taken apart

All of these tools are harbor freight throw down. If they get salt on them and they get crusty, I toss them. If I only rode fresh water, I'd buy Husky brand. I use Husky for my quads, and my dad gave me craftsman at home, but for the salt, I use cheap stuff.

Edit: I usually don't bring my misc parts box. My skis are getting to be in top shape, and I don't do much work at the ride anymore. Now it's just tightening parts that get loose and adjusting/tuning.

Here are some pictures of my Snap-On box when I was wrenching on skis. Basically everything I've ever really needed for servicing a 4-Tec SeaDoo to building a BOB ground up.
Only thing else I've been meaning to get is a Cresent Wrench set and a Flywheel Puller kit. But other than that, everything else has really been all I've needed.

Travel Tools I use for jetski's & sleds- all metric- 1/4 drive kit with flex head ratchet and extensions. full metric wrench set, metric allens, scewdrivers, long needle nose pliers, vise crip, cutting pliers, rubber mallet. misc I'm forgeting.
supplies- plugs, zip ties, hose clamps, all metric stainless hardware, electrical connections, and duct tape

zip ties, spare battery, and basic hand tools. A few size screw drivers for those hard to get to hose clamps.

Nice tools DK. I have the same 3/8ths impact and the bluepoint air ratchet. Mine dont look so nice after working on diesel trucks and in the oil feilds for a few years. I really need to do some good organization and cleaning of my tools since they mainly get used on skis now. Now I deal with a lot of rust, and Im not to sure why.

Oh yeah. Zip ties, several of each of many assorted sizes. Got to have zip ties.

Any socket or wrench I have ever used on my ski I put into a seperate small toolbox to take to the lake, also have a compression tester, an adjustable wrench, a few screwdrivers, spark plugs, a few extra gaskets, a rubber mallet (you never know...) and of course the most important thing...zip ties!!!

rigging tape, zipties, $25 harborfrieght tool set, sparkplugs, beer and my "tobbacco" pipe with "tobbacco" ha ha, these are all the things a guy will need to bring to the lake.
