I have the RRP and I ride mostly flat, I think its thought through very well. My buddy has a Xmetal and its nice too, I just prefer the RRP IMO.

both great pole and xmetal stands behind there product , but one feature i like the rrp you can adjust unlimited and if you want to change tube length you can go longer or shorter for all the new hull designs out there .either way you will be happy
check us out for the rrp if you go that route .

Aren't the new XMetal Poles adjustable now?

Are the RRP's only adjustable once? After you cut the poles, the poles aren't gonna get longer again. The x-metal can be adjusted back and forth.

you can actually do the same with rrp you dont have to slame them all the in at the beginning so you can have about 4" of adjustment before cutting the tubes .
i usually go about a 1" at a time for customers and once you get used to it go another , no one i really no has gone back to longer unless they sold or changed hulls
but you can also by new tubes for $50 for the set if you did go that route

So, why does it seem like everyone has bad things to say about the rrp. I am also debating which one to get and leaning twards the rrp. I ride flat water. Are they known to break, or are they just not built as well. At first i was under the assumption that the rrp was top notch. And why does it seem like no one likes the looks of the rrp?

In the beginning of the season I installed an RRP handle pole and lowered bracket. I am real stoked with the RRP pole, never tried the XMETAL but all i hear is good things about them on XH20. The RRP is adjustable and I like having that option. Now as for the customer service with RRP I had no problems at all dealing with them and would recommend them to anyone.

If we are talking about which pole for flatwater freestyle, then you should consider weight also. The xmetal pole is much lighter than the RRP. The adjustable xmetal pole is crazy strong, I couldn't break mine in the surf.

If budget is a concern, the xmetal is by far the better deal.

Just got my X metal today and it looks sick. There are a couple minor things i dont like about the design like the way the chinpad attaches (with the bold going through the top of the pad) and one of my pole stops on the bracket has been welded on there a little crooked. Also, What is the total weight of a rrp pole? I know the x metal is 10lbs, but i am having trouble finding the weight of the rrp.
