Other What's the coolest ride you've had on a ski?

I would have to say last September, lake MI, 15ft+ which is crazy for the great lakes. Buddy called me up selling me there was "big" waves on the lake so we headed out after work. Keep in mind last year was my first year in the sport and I was riding my Kawa 650sx..lol Well lets just say out of the few hours I was there i only hit about 5 waves. It was just crazy. I know some of you were out there making it look like child's play..lol That will be something I will never forget

That reminds me of another---while I was in Hawaii, our sub was doing daily ops so out in the morning and back in late afternoon. The whole crew wasn't needed, so we rotated who had the day off. On one day off, I was riding and kept my eye out and sure enough the Bates was headed in. I headed toward the channel to try to meet it and came up a little short but did get to ride up/over the wake which was a good 8-10' mound of water.

I found out the next day that they tracked me as a surface contact, way cool.

Riding with my son on the lake I live on. One day I was out practicing stabs (and doing badly) as I had been for like 2 months straight. My son had never even tried one. He watched me from the beach for a while and then comes past me on his SN, points at his chest as if to say "my turn" and up he goes and down into a perfect stab. First try. The grin on his face was unforgettable. Not only one of my best riding days, but one of my best days ever period.

The river
1) Northern Platte River in Wyoming. Carry 2 gal can of fuel in the tray, plus lunch and go up river. It's like being on a horse in wild west. Then float down river checking out the furry animals.

2) I think it was the Illinois River near Peora on a Sunday evening(road trip ski). Yahts train headind back to Chicago making bow wakes the size of a VW Bettles.

Here are some highlights that range from Northern Canada to southern Florida;

- Whitewater in Likely, BC, Canada on the Chilcotin River. (38MPH flow, 3-7 ft rapids)
- New Years day ride on the 1 mile stretch of the Chilcotin River that didn't freeze that particular year.
- Frozen "Hutch Lake" in Northern Alberta, Canada
- 2 weeks of vacation in Kelowna BC, Canada. Rode every day and hit 7 different lakes in 10 days.
- Secret spot in Florida for Hurricane Bill, (even had my wife out there that day)
- Tybee Island, GA; on my first RN superjet purchased just 3 weeks after I moved down to the US. Met ScottS for the first time, broke down on an outgoing tide and was swept out into the Ocean for over 20 minutes.
- St Augustine, Jacksonville and Sebastians Inlet Florida. Riding with sharks is cool enough but our first time at the spot we encountered a bunch of stingrays trailed by their little babies in a perfect flight pattern. Having just pet Stingrays the weekend before in the Myrtle Beach Aquarium, seeing them in the wild with their young was pretty damn cool.
- Daytona 2010 for my Honeymoon.

One of my favourite rides from back in my home town was the nicknamed the Swamp River run. 38 miles of lazy bends, splits around islands and some whitewater, ending in an incredible waterfall. Since one of the riders that day was killed shortly after, I always think of that day when I think of him.

I have been entertaining ideas of trying to ride in all 50 states...

Hey man, I know this thread hasn't been posted in, for a while.
But noticed you rode in Kelowna? I have live in Kelowna all my life? Didnt see you on the lake, I watch constantly, did you ride okanagan? Or other surrounding lakes?
If you ever ride BC again give me a shout! Never see anyone out here.....ever!
