Whats the deal with prices on used b-pipes???

How come used b-pipe's go for so much? It doesn't make sense to me. This b-pipe went for $456 plus $20 in shipping on ebay. Then you have to purchase head bolts, hoses, couplers, clamps, etc. When it is all said and done you are well over $500 for a used beat up looking b-pipe.

For $100 more you can buy a brand new one that comes with everything and you don't have to spend the time ordering little random parts for it. It just doesn't make sense to me? :dunno:

Yea, seems crazy to me as well.....Whats the deal with Factory Pipe??? My friend called them up to order a mod pipe, and the lady was like.....I guess I got one I could sell you..... are they not producing these any more or something? Not sure whats up with that..... she made it sound like it was the last one on the planet

Would signing a petition for producing more Bpipes do anything if went it to Factory? Maybe if they say the great interest, it would help?

It's quite a bit more than $100 more than that went for. Plus, he's a friend of mine, so I have the little extra parts that may be needed, and doesn't everyone switch to Diddy-bolts anyway?

isn't a backorder better indication than a petition? they know they don't make enough.

They could possibly be on backorder because they're just unaware how much interest there is. When they fulfill production needs, the orders may stop for months. All of sudden, they get slammed, and hence the backorder. Just a possibility I guess.

Do u guys remember several years ago when the Harley craze took over? And Harley dealers took a deposit for 1/2 the sale price and said-"well, maybe we will call you in a year, and maybe you will get a new Harley", and the dealer had the Harley in a warehouse the whole dam time??? Supply and demand!!! I've talked w/Cindy at Factory pipe on several occasions, and every time, she is SUPER NICE AND HELPFUL, but at the same time acts like Factory Pipe is going out of business tomorrow. Lets face it-they are it-the end all and the omega of pipe builders and they know it. So just like gas prices-we all bitch and still pay for it. I'm not really bitchin here-just stating facts.
I for one will continue to give Factory Pipe $ for years to come or as long as they are in business.
peace out

If you didn't have someone hooking you up with the rest of the parts and you had to order each part and pay shipping on each part if you didn't want to order everything from FP then it would be well over $500.

You can order a new b-pipe for 605 plus shipping. I think that roughly works out to around $100.

Personally I wouldn't have spent more than 350-400 on that pipe even if it included everything you needed. There is a lot to be said for purchasing a new pipe and not having to deal with drilling out water screws and worrying about the structural integrity of the pipe (i.e. bad welds).

Just my .02. It's nice to know that if I buy a new b-pipe and I want to sell it down the road I'll have someone to pay me close to what I payed for it.

uh no, actually it works the other way around for me. If I buy the pipe new and they sell for 3/4 the price used, naturally the day beofre I sell mine there will be a flood of pipes and I will get 1/4 the cost of new, if I'm lucky. I am living proof Murphy's Law is real.LOL. So watch for my stuff to be on sale, they will always be to your advantage. LOL(WAD:biggrin: )

this isn't the first time they're on back order, I"m sure they know what they're doing.

you do not have to order the hardware from FPP........ you can pick most up locally.......... as far as the 3 headpipe bolts, just find some lower case bolts from a Yamaha motor, they are stainless and not zinc like the FPP ones, or order the Diddy Bolt!

if you use the stock exhaust bolts then there is two there with 12mm heads and not 14mm heads
it makes it heaps easier to get the socket on

I try to always use these

I wish you could order a B pipe for $605.. I have bought 2 in the last few months and both ran $730.00 all said and done... $685.00 for the pipe.. $30.00 for the elbow hose.. plus shipping

Fly, if you don't have a b-pipe, then you don't know how valuable they are.

If I needed one, I would pay $450 any day of the week to get one.

I just happen to have two right now....:Banane01:

I have owned 2 b-pipes. Right now I only have one on my blaster and I'm about to order one for my sj. I'm not questioning them being worth what they sell for. All I am saying is that I if I'm going to have to spend 500 for a used pipe when it's all said and done then I'll spend the extra $105 to buy a new one.

Just my opinion. Personally I don't think its worth it to have to deal with a used pipe and only save $100.

$500 to house aint cheap but new they are $630 plus $20-25 frt.. So a min savings of $150.00, every penny helps and if we order less new ones maybe supply will build back up???? I would prefer new but gotta pinch a penny when you can and help someone out selling a used one too.
