SX - single Keihin carb 63hp
SXi - dual carbs (Keihin in 95, Mikuni 96+), 75hp 'big pin' engine
SXi Pro - same dual carb engine 75hp, better bottom deck
SXR - new hull, bigger engine, etc.

SO it looks like my '96 SXi is the most desirable year for a "non -Pro" ski. cool.

The fiber glass bottom would be nice though. but arent the pros heavier?

the small pin SX has the best bottom end (for a Kawi)
those cylinders are now getting desirable

really? so 12 more ponies is not a good thing?

It was all topend. My 550 mod would out accelerate my '95 SXi and was dead even on top at 49mph. I did eventually get the SXi up ~55mph with an 11/19 impeller, but bottom/mid weren't there.

ok.. that makes some sence. you think that shaving the head and lightend fly wheel would make the difference or is it all in port timing??
